Redline Racing Reports

March 22-26, 2017 Outlaw Street Car Reunion IV Memphis, TN

Race Wrap:

We showed up to Memphis Wednesday evening hoping to get some good testing in on Thursday with the White MX235 Car and ended up having a parts failure on the first pass of the weekend and were done with that car unfortunately.

Our Customer Justin Cyrnek with his "Green Goblin" Redline Tuned AES Powered Hotrod was able to shatter the Outlaw 8.5 / MX235 Record with a stellar 4.56@160 mph pass on Thursday and then backed it up with a 4.58 @ 160 mph. Unfortunately Justin came up short in the semifinals. You can see a VIDEO HERE of the runs.

Our Limited Drag Radial Car came without a motor to the track, we went and picked up the engine from Jeff Burns Engines in Tupelo, MS and installed it Thursday evening at the track.  Got it all buttoned up in about 4 hours and were ready for qualifying Friday.  Had our fair share of minor issues in qualifying and were only able to achieve a 4.90 ET and ended up #26 out of #29 Cars.  We then were rained out Saturday so we were very discouraged going in to 1st round Sunday Morning. We made a slight chassis change and with the support of our Chassis Builder Chuck Burkhart from Burkhart Chassis and our tuning consultant Wade Hopkins at Southern Speed Racing we decide to make a chassis change before 1st rd.  Amazed to all of us 1st round came and we went a 4.21 to the opponents 4.24, our new personal best and we won the round. Now on to 2nd round we had to race another very fast car, unfortunately the opponent rolled through the beams and we got a free pass, after some tweaking in the tune we went a 4.20 another personal best.  Then 3rd round we were up against the fastest leaf spring car in the world and it was the closet race of the weekend. I had a .053 light, he had a .065 light, I went a 4.185 he went a 4.183 it was .0088 at the stripe but we got the victory. The 4th round we faced Jason Rueckert our friend the VP Regional manager, we have run similar ET's every round so we knew it was going to be a race, he got em on the tree slightly but he went in to a wheelstand and we were abel to win with a 4.20. Now came the final round, we had to race the #1 Qualifer who every round was going .01 faster than our best ET, we had raced all day in the right lane, but so had he, he had lane choice and he chose the right lane. We made some slight chassis and tuneup changes and came out swinging. I had a .061 light to his .121 and I ran a 4.171 to his 4.174 it was by far the best final of the event. We had just WON one of the biggest races of the year. We also had our new personal best ET and MPH 4.171 @ 190 mph. What an accomplishment that coudn't happen without all of the help from my crew and sponsors. Wow What a Weekend a the Street Car Super Nationals in St Louis at Gateway Motorsports Park August 2016.

The White MX235 Car driven by Brian Edwards managed to qualify #5, ...and unfortunately had to meet our teammate Justin Cyrnek in the 2nd round as he qualifyed #4, it was a close race we went 4.79 to his winning 4.75, Justin went on to win the event in Outlaw 8.5 so it was still a great 8.5 weekend.

With the Orange LDR Car, we managed to qualify #1 with a 4.27 and went on to the finals to win a close 4.23 to 4.29 race.

We managed to go our new personal best 4.239 @180.79 mph, qualify #1, and win the race.

I couldn't do it without the support of all my family and friends.

Special Thanks to: Chuck & Greg at Burkhart Chassis for building an extremely nice well working car, Jeff Burns at Burns Racing Engines for building a stout piece, Wade Hopkins from Southern Speed Racing for the continued help and support, Precision Turbo, Dave Klaput at Proformance Transmissions, Rick Anderson and Doug Flynn at Holley EFI. Brian Edwards, Brandon Atkins, Domenic Friguglietti for all the help in keeping these hot rods running.

The NMCA, NMRA Super Bowl of Street-Legal Drag Racing was held at Route 66 Raceway, Joliet IL.... on July 28-31. The REDLINE MOTORSPORTS shop cars made a very good showing. Brian Edwards driving the MX235 "White Fox" Mustang made it to the finals against Brad Matlock. It was a good final round until the Brian broke traction and helped Brad to get the win.
Matt Bell driving his LDR "Copperhead" Fox Body Mustang made it to the semi's before he broke traction, handing the win to the other lane.
Still a good effort from Matt. First time out with a brand new engine.
Without a doubt the REDLINE cars have the Horsepower. Need some....we can Help!

It was another "Winning Weekend" for the guys at REDLINE MOTORSPORTS INC. #1 QUALIFIER and the "BIG WIN" at the PSCA "RAGE by the RIVER" event held at GATEWAY MOTORSPORTS PARK, July 16. Brian Edwards driving the Matt Bell tuned "White Fox" Mustang, defeated all challengers in the MMR OUTLAW 8.5 class.

It was another GREAT performance by the REDLINE MOTORSPORTS crew at the NMCA BLUEGRASS NATIONALS in Bowling Green KY. The "PLAIN JANE" white Fox MX235 car was #1 Qualifier and finished the race in the Runner-UP spot. Congrats to driver Brian Edwards, & owner tuner, Mathew Bell.

This "PLAIN JANE" white Fox is REDLINE'S newest MX235 competitor for the 2016 season. SBF, HOLLEY EFI, single PRECISION turbo, VP Q16. 1st race of the season in Memphis, down to the last 4 cars out of 28 before the race was called do to unsafe weather conditions. I believe she was headed for #1. Great start with 2016!

The photos below display the newest car in the Redline stable, on it's maiden pass for the 2016 season. The smoke and thunder took place in Memphis, TN at the Outlaw Street Car Reunion.
